The video clip below combines a female face with a male voice. Watch and listen. What does the voice say?
The person in the video was recorded saying /ga/, /ka/, /gi/, /ki/ and the voice was saying /ba/, /pa/, /bi/, /pi/ (you can check this by playing the video again and listening without watching). If you experienced the McGurk effect then you will have heard /da/, /ta/, /di/, /ti/, even though the voice does not match the face.
