Visual sentence processing
The first two demonstrations present sentences incrementally on the screen, one word at a time.
Self-paced reading
In this task you press a key to see the next word in a sentence and the time taken to press the key is measured and used as an indicator of processing load at that point in the sentence.
Self-paced reading with anomaly detection
In this task you also press a key to see the next word in a sentence. In addition, however, you have to press a different key as soon as the sentence stops making sense.
Spoken sentence processing
The next two demonstrations involve different ways of measuring the processing of a spoken sentence.
Before you begin ensure you have sound working:
Word monitoring
In this task you listen for a target word in a sentence.
Cross-modal priming
An auditory prime stimulus is presented, followed or accompanied by a visual target for lexical decision
