integration
Matching of information about possible word candidates against information about the sentence context in order to facilitate word recognition. Distinct from cue integration.

Example:
When hearing The accused was found guilty of trespass, the interpretation of the sentence as a whole is integrated with lexical information from the initial cohort for trespass to eliminate candidates such as trestle earlier than would be possible on the basis of the phonetic input alone.
