paralexias Word substitutions during reading, usually as a result of language impairment.
Example:Semantic paralexias: error produces semantically related word, e.g. father -> dad;Derivational paralexias: one affix is substituted for another, e.g. walking -> walked;Visual paralexias:a visually similar word is substituted, e.g. narrow -> marrow.
