Late Closure One of the sentence analysis strategies proposed to account for garden path sentences. This one attaches material into the clause or phrase currently being processed, rather than to a new clause or phrase. See also Minimal Attachment.
Example:Late Closure leads to a garden path if the reader interprets his book as the object of reading:While Jack was reading his book fell off the table.
